The Calhoun Downtown Development Authority is dedicated to promoting economic development, preserving the city’s historic past, and conserving its natural beauty. It is a community where all are committed in helping support its rich heritage while maintaining its small town atmosphere. We hope to continue in the revitalization of downtown Calhoun through economic, cultural and social endeavors while maintaining its historic quality. The members of the DDA board are appointed by Mayor and City Council and are dedicated citizens who are invested in helping downtown.

The Historic Preservation Commission is committed to keeping the historical integrity of downtown Calhoun, Georgia. Through the efforts of the HPC, downtown Calhoun, Ga is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The HPC is in charge of receiving and reviewing Certificate of Appropriateness for all new downtown businesses. The members of the commission are voluntary positions appointed by the Calhoun Mayor and City Council. Members are city residents and persons who have demonstrated special interest, experience, or education in history, architecture, or the preservation of historic resources.
