The GEM Theatre, a not-for-profit community theatre, and the Mohawk Carpet Foundation are pleased to present its free Summer Movie Series each Thursday at 10:00 a.m. (no movies the week of July 4th). Thanks to the generosity of a grant through the Mohawk Carpet Foundation, the GEM Theatre is able to offer this series free to both children and adults. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. prior to the show. The concession stand will be open for the movie. There is a charge for those items. No outside food/drink allowed.
Merida (Kelly Macdonald), the daughter of Scottish King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson), is a skilled archer who wants to carve out her own path in life. Her defiance of an age-old tradition angers the Highland lords and leads to chaos in the kingdom. Merida seeks help from an eccentric witch (Julie Walters), who grants her an ill-fated wish. Now, Merida must discover the true meaning of courage and undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.
