Pete’s Dragon

The GEM Theatre, a not-for-profit community theatre, and the Mohawk Carpet Foundation are pleased to present its free Summer Movie Series each Thursday at 10:00 a.m. (no movies the week of July 4th). Thanks to the generosity of a grant through the Mohawk Carpet Foundation, the GEM Theatre is able to offer this series free to both children and adults. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. prior to the show. The concession stand will be open for the movie. There is a charge for those items. No outside food or drink is allowed.

Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford), a woodcarver, delights local children with stories of a mysterious dragon that lives deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. His daughter Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard) believes these are just tall tales, until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley), a 10-year-old orphan who says he lives in the woods with a giant, friendly dragon. With help from a young girl named Natalie (Oona Laurence), Grace sets out to investigate if this fantastic claim can be true.
